Thanks Galen for highlighting this huge block set in the foundation of our country's customs.
Only a people of compassion would rise up during a time when forgiveness and common decency was greatly in need.
Maybe this is another reason why during reconstruction, South Carlina sent more African American politicians to Congress in Washington,D.C.
