Campus Family: THE KIMBALL KNIGHTS WON THE STATE TROPHY! I think the score was 52 to 58. Hip....hip..hooray for Kimball! My sister Mary said the trophy and the ball is sitting in their den...if anyone wants to come over and "kiss" it....ha, ha, ha...just kidding...my Momma said we can't have no company....smile. But yes Kimball came home with the trophy! The Superintendent...Mr. Hinoj... over DISD took the coaches and Bo and the whole team out to dinner. Mary also said that Hawk-eyed called them. We love us some Hawk-eye....he lived next door to us...and he was the "only" boy who could come in our house..."now go home Robert Simpson...we have to go to school tomorrow...ha, ha, ha."
Congratulations, Coach Bo!! ... Or 'Coach Johnson' as my Kimball-athlete grandson and my former Christway student Antonio Garrett (at Bo's left wearing the dark top) respectfully call him. Job well done this season!
Kimball is now rated #5 in the state and #14 in the nation by CBSSPORTS.COM's MaxPreps.com top high school sports website.
Campus Family Members...F.Y.I.: For those of you who do not know...Bo was Inducted into The Black Texan Hall of Fame in 2006. Dr. Harry Robinson - Executive Director over the African American Museum at Fair Park is a member of my church - Good Street and he is compiling historical material about Bo and his Track and Field accomplishments, starting at BTW, to be placed in the African American Museum. Hip...hip...hooray for BTW - a School of Excellence!
