  • DWIGHT LOWERY.... MY OLD FRIEND...... GREW UP IN GOOD STREET CHURCH TOGETHER AND ANTHONY, THE OLDEST WHO PASSED AWAY A FEW YEARS AGO....... REV CHAMBERS WAS OUR PASTOR, AND BAPTIZED US,,,,, WAAAAAAAAY BEFORE REV CLARK WAS PASTOR..!!

YOU AND MS. VICKY STILL LOOKING GOOD....

  • Nita I saw Anthony at their father's funeral a couple of months ago at our church.  He was using a cane, but he was looking good.  I don't know if he is a member yet...as Buddy.
  • Beautiful picture, I"m so glad to see Ms. Vickey, and Dwight. I miss seeing Anthony Lowery, since I retired, hope he is on line. I would love to hear from him.
  • Yes, big time Deb, you nailed it...thanks and quick too.  I know exactly where the new location is, I also remember Pilgrim Rest.  If Clark passed three years ago, he must have been nearly 100 years old, I would think.  God speed in finding a new permanent Pastor.
  • Clyde...and please call me Deb.  You are correct, Good Street was once located in North Dallas on Good Latimer and then it moved to Oak Cliff.  I moved my membership from Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church when I married my husband Charles "Dwight" Love in 1971.  He and his family and grand parents have been members forever, even from the old location. Rev. Clark passed about three years ago, so we are now in search of a new Pastor.  Good Street is located on Bonnie View Rd off of Illinois and Kiest Street...in the same area where the Black and Clark Funeral Home is located in Oak Cliff on Illinois.  (You too know that Black and Clark was once located in North Dallas.)  Now do you know where it is? I hope that helped.
  • Tell me Deborah, where is Good Street today, when I was coming up, it was in North Dallas, and Caesar Clark was the Pastor.  In fact, it was just around the corner from my Church, New Hope Baptist, back then.  New Hope moved to South Dallas.
  • Buddy, Vicky's husband's name is Dwight.  As Vicky so splendidly stated, we both married guys from Lincoln.  We had to find a man we could control...ha, ha, ha.  And her husband Dwight agreed...Vicky trained him well! Applause.......applause...applause! (Just kidding...you all know that all BTW girls' requirements are to have "strong" men...always the battle of the Lincoln Tigers and BTW Bulldogs.) I love me some Vicky Barrett Lowery. All of us are members of Good Street Baptist Church.  Vicky's mother sits in front of me at church and she looks good for her age.  Vicky's husband Dwight (my husband's name is also Dwight), is a sweetie pie!  She did good!
