You had the natural juice back then as well, Jet! Wish I could have watched you. I always thought quarterbacking was part "magic" somehow... how with all the scrambling and clashing and growling of 21 other men on the field, a focused man pumped a ready arm to throw a leather ball to the waiting hands of a moving receiver with perfect timing!
Galen.. I think I still hold the 30 min recess record for touchdown passes.. I threw 15 tds to Grady Sims little brother Rickey, in a 30 playground period
And football on the blacktop! I saw Bill Smith and Grady Sims put on many a 'quarterback' show on that fun piece of real estate. Every now and then we had a fall and a little skin and few drops of blood lost, but we "tuffed it up" and the game went on. "Football on the asphalt" - that was glorious recess back then, since we had no grass like our 1st-3rd grade school J.W. Ray did!
FRED!!! WOOOOWWWW!!! A TREASURE!! THIS IS "THE NEW BUILDING" RIGHT? (I'M GUESSING BY THE LIGHTER BRICKS) I'm also guessing this is before my BFD years since we had the basketball goal to the right where the tether ball poles are and the poles were on the left. (We did enough Maypole dances around those each May didn't we?) MAN!! ... THANKS!!
