Those hats were hard to keep clean, being the color white. Gloria Young....my sister... always had to put her's in a plastic bag to keep it clean. I wonder if any of the girls still have their boots and tassels. The uniforms were rented, so I know they don't have them.
I second that Galen! They are pretty and they DEFINITELY had C L A S S. I remember those "red" boots too that Carolyn and Willie Mae have on. Besides their hats and uniforms being different from the flag bearers and the line majorettes, no other Capt or Co-Capt ever wore those "red" boots again...after them! Those boots need to be in the trophy case. That was history making and nobody even knew it at the time. My, my, my, Galen...what memories, what precious sweet memories. I ask the Lord to continue to give me the vision and the insight to STOP....STOP....my child and "savor" the moment(s).
