Her name is Carzetta Gray Williams, mother of Jo Ollie, Juanita, and Waymon Williams. Grandmother of Donald and Clifford Cole. She was born in Marshall Texas in 1910, moved to Dallas Texas at an early age. She graduated from Booker T. at the age of 17 in 1927. Then it was on tho Bishop College in Marshall Texas. She married Matthew W. Williams of Jefferson Texas. The picture was taken in 1923. She had one sister Vashti Gray. Her mother's family were the Browns of Marshall Texas.

What a very small world!! I just finished looking at a copy of the 1940 Federal Census (Dallas, TX) and
found that Matthew Williams, wife Carzetta, daughters Jo Ollie and Juanita and a sister Vashti lived on Flora Street close to Flint CT where my grandmother Henrietta Johnson lived. And now I have done a portrait of a very young Carzetta. . . .wow
