I do see some Emmett resemblance in #57, Cassie. Since you know your dad's appearance better than anyone, the good folks at UNT who compiled the J.L. Patton photo archives could have made a mistake on the date. I'm not sure what thir source of information was/is, but several years ago I identified Foster Kilgore (my '66 classmate Kenneth's dad) as the "unidentified man" they had him tagged as. The curator sent me a thank you email and added Mr. Kilgore's information I provided. (Click the picture to see it on the archive website page.) Galen, please look at # 57, which was my father's # and that picture SURE looks my father. Take a close look, and you can see it looks like my brother Emmett. If so, my dad finished in 38, and was in college in 40. For our family this would be a golden nugget.
