It stands out to me how classy this class looks. Pompadours were apparently the rage in ladies' hairstyles. The brothers all look like they're ready for Howard, Harvard, Prairie View, and other higher life destinations and activities after high school.
Bonita Titus Alford's very creative mother Johnnie Deloris Wilson is the petite class scribe in the middle of the front row and she knew most of these classmates through her mom's sharings. Bonita said a notable thing me once: "Most of these people were poor but you would never know it looking at them". That speaks for many of us back them I'd guess ... surely my family with our $15 a month Roseland Homes rent that we could hardly make many times, but being dressed well and fed well and socially nurtured you might have a hard time telling it.
