My dear fellow Bulldogs, please forgive the mistake that I'm confessing right now. I created this "HAVE A BLESSED BULLDOG DAY" FRONT PAGE SITE GREETING to have a joyful "BTW-personalized" Home Page greeting graphic feature in place of the nice but generic ones from the web-at-large we have been seeing. I mistakenly used "Birthday" instead of "Day" in the file's title, and when the site uploaded it it showed the "birthday" file title on Main Street. [I do so many custom birthday blocks my mind apparently just subconsciously"went there".]
Dr. Patton's birthday is actually May 20th.
I have so much past and present respect for Dr. Patton that celebrating his professional legacy AT ANY TIME like you have here is totally a very good thing in my book. Every day I honor and celebrate within, his door-opening facilitations and educational trailblazings that have borne great fruit for several generations and uncounted thousands of people in our lifetimes.
I could correctly rename this file and re-upload it .. but that would make this picture lose all your great kudos in the comments attached to it, so for now I hope my file-name-mistake apology clear up any confusion.
Other teachers pictures will sit atop this greeting from time to time, and like this one I will upload the picture to our photos area for viewing, comments, and downloads. (Be sure to click the "View Full Size" link to download the biggest picture. If you have a web browser that does NOT show the biggest picture first when you do that, but keeps it smaller just so you can see it all, just move your mouse arrow over the picture [you'll see a plus sign] and click it to see how big the pic will be when you get it.)
What an Honor to celebrate one who left a huge foot print by this educator and one of the first to teach "Negro History". Thank You Dr. Patton, for being being ahead of your time, and living in my time to witness you.
You lived and led just like another famous American.....Booker T. Washington.
