  • Isn't it amazing how people are called by their names.  Bonita called her Jo, some called her Joyce, some called her Joyce Ann, but I always called her by her full name:  Joyce Hunt, as I was called by my full name:  Deborah Young.  Joyce has a memory that all will remember and all had good things to say about her.  She was a lady in stature and she was a regular.  I went to B.F. Darrell and all through H.S. with Joyce Hunt as many of you have already mentioned and all memories were good and wonderful memories of this fine young lady.  You never know how people perceive you, so it always good to always be on your best behavior at all times.  Thanks Joyce Hunt for the wonderful school memories.  God bless you and yours as you travel.

  • Joyce Ann Hunt was a year under me, but she was someone who stood out in a crowd. Her dress was always on point and she was someone you enjoyed being around. The Angles are smiling now and I am praying for her family. GOD bless you all.

  • Joyce Ann was one of the standout personalities my brother Delbert made me aware of in his '67 class. He gave me those personality reports and anecdotal updates of his classmates he enjoyed throughout every year since 4th grade, and because of that I often felt as close to them as if they were some of my own classmates. Joyce was one, and while we seldom talked I loved to see her smile and laugh spontaneously at school and in the neighborhood, which I saw a lot.  Joyce brightened our collective lives, and I thank God for her.

Thanks to Glennie Walker-Dunn for giving us Joyce's service information in advance of it being published.

  • Joyce and I went on our senior trip to Colorado and she was so much fun to be with.  She was always ahead of the times and I respected her for that.  She always dressed nice and always spoke when spoken to.  She was a class mate who participated in all of our functions.  The last time I saw Joyce was last year at a wake of another BTW family class mate and she still looked the same.  I hadn't seen her in over 30 years so it was good to see her face again.
She was the same old Joyce...standing tall and very well dressed.  I will miss her.

  • I remember Joyce Ann, I always called her that, we went to B.F.Darrell as well as BTW together. We had a tap dance group that we performed in. I remember her fondly, she was always so immaculate with her dress. Rest in peace my friend.
  • Jo, I would never have thought that God would call you home before He would call me.  It is with great sadness that I say goodbye to you.  I'll always remember you and the fun times, sad times, troubled times.  I'm so sad that you had to suffer as you did but I believe that as drew your last breath, God was ministering to you and preparing you for your homegoing.  So rest in peace, my friend.  I'll see you on the other side.

  • My friend...R.I.P.
  • I have great of memories of Joyce.  We not only attended BTW together, but we both were members of St. John under Pastor Estell.  We attended all of the church activities, sang in the choir and attended summer camp together.  Where did the time go?
