Charles, you look like my husband when he came back home from Viet Nam in Sept. - 1970. (He wore "dark" sun glasses too.) And a girlfriend of mine whom I worked with at BCBS is married to Ernest Cokes...that's his brother Curtis in the picture. Good picture..good picture! (Still today, my husband doesn't like to talk about Viet Nam...so I don't force it.) And I have a scrap book of pictures collected from Viet Nam that he sent home to me. (We show them to our grandchildren.) Just think, at the age of 18 and 19...he was 19...young man...but really just a kid....when they drafted him...but what you guys experienced over there is more than what the human mine can imagine. Praise Be To God!
What a family nugget of a picture, wow! Chuck, I want to say that all the football you played helped to ground you brother, we came up under strict discipline; and that had to have played, at least a small part, in how you coped with the warfare(smile), as well as the training of moms and pops:-). Let me add this along with Carolyn's comment, many don't talk about that experience in Viet Nam, and find it difficult to do so. However, I find you to be well-adjusted, unbelievably, A tribute to God for your safe return...Peace In my friend.
Everybody, for years this photo was cramed in a desk drawer, when found again,it was tucked away with other family photos. Pictures have a way becoming more meaningful as time goes by, and that's what happened to this photo. "Pops"my father,Lorenzo Wilson and I think everyone else was I.D., helped celebrate that night. The "Jazz Crusaders" performed that same night, and I timed coming home just right to see the show. Cassie, as you see, my friends answered your earlier question. Thanks for taking Nita's question. Everyone on this photo are Bulldogs, except "Pops"
