MRS. HARTMAN'S B.T.W. CONNECTION Princella Hartman was a Booker T. Washington graduate, as are her surviving daughters Clara Bruce Gay-Tate-Cole, BTW class of 1942, and Pat Hartman-Bell-Banks, BTW class of 1964. Mrs. Hartman's dear Granddaughter Joyce Elaine Tate, who was by Granny's side as she passed over, was a standout BTW honor student and dancer through her junior BTW year, then graduated in the first L.G. Pinkston Sr. Class in 1965 and achieved several firsts as a Black professional model. Jackie McMillan (BTW '64) shared that Mrs. Hartman was also the manager of the BTW school cafeteria, and "an amazing woman and a pillar of our community".
