My, my, my...there's Blendon (Bo) Johnson, The BTW Quarter-Horse of All Times...Man, man, man!...Bo got the Bone and Gone. This man ran against Ray Saddler at the TSU Relays in 1964, as a high-schooler and placed third, I believe...I will stand corrected, sho ain't trying to take nothing from you, Brother; this was simply amazing to me(all the big names were there, Bob Hayes, Ralph Boston etc...), truly a legend in his own time.
Bo's performance enabled us lift our heads higher, and to not be intimidated with the fanfare. And again, on a Saturday in Cobb, a (record 46.1 sec.) anchor leg quarter was produced by Bo; and I vividly remember helping catch Bo, with many others, Kincaid included, as he nearly fainted, after hitting the tape. You had to love Blendon, as did the entire city of athletes ...Peace In my Idol friend, for real-straight talk.
