I LOVE this picture!!!! The words "it represents of the best of us" jumped into my thoughts this time as I looked it again for at least the 10th time. And somehow I'd guessed it was an Easter Sunday by the sharp suits. The Streat brothers' eyeglasses look exactly like my first ones in 3rd grade. ~ Precious memories here.
My dad took me to the zoo when I was about 3 and I still remember the bus or streetcar ride down Marsalis because I stuck my head out of the window and my little bib cap blew off. I saw a motorcycle cop stop and pick it up... but I don't remember if he ever caught up with us and gave it to my father. That's one of only half a dozen memories of anything that happened at age 3... the biggest being my tonsils being taken out and eating ice cream in a crib at the hospital a day or so later.
