THANKS FELLAS,YOU ARE ON THE BALL. WHAT I WAS REALLY TRYING TO CLEAR UP IN MY MIND. IT SEEMS THAT LALLIE D. USED TO DOMINATE THE SKATING RINK ON ROSELAND HOMES PARK. HE COULD SKATE REAL GOOD,OR DO I HAVE HIM MIXED UP WITH SOMEONE ELSE. HE WAS THE BEST IN THE OLDER BOYS,AND TED(JOE THOMAS) WAS THE BEST IN YOUNGER BROTHERS. If you don't mind me putting my two cent in ,I would like to tell you what I know ,since we lived on the same street . Laddie D and his brother Walter Johnson nick name Sweet cake lived on Ellis Street . Ellis street was a part of Griggs Park at that time.These houses were not mansion but instead shot Gun houses That was before they enlarged Griggs Park by tearing down our Shot Gun .That was the late Forties and Early Fifties after that ,I don't have an ideal where they lived
Hey Carl, Laddie D. & Maxine lived on Wheatley Pl in the late 50's. He had a sister that lived on Lafayette where he stay sometimes but he never actually lived there.....Even tho I left Dallas early, I didn't forget everything....lol!
