  • It is weak Big Sis.  Just don't laugh - squirk, squirk, squirk.  (You know what I mean....hahahaha).  And don't cough during the cold season.  I'll have to call the Fire Dept. and let them know one of their water faucet has a leak on Knob Hill "Morris"  Dr...Huge HAHAHAHAHA!  Ain't nothing changed but the weather.  It's raining, it's raining....etc...hehaw

  • I feel like I'm talking to myself here.  I've responses from 3 of my besties......Gloria, Fred, and Deb.

Where are the rest of you, my buddies, classmates, schoolmates.

We've all gotten older, a little feebler, losing memory, less mobile, lots  of aches and pains.

Lets all join in here and laugh at ourselves.  I laugh at myself all the time.  I start toward the bathroom before I know I have to go.  Because when I know I have to go, I might not get there in time.  Bladder seems weaker at times....LOL

  • Buddy Smart Dog, a "thought" can turn into an "explosion" of  wonderful ideas and discussions....and this is a wonderful and "fun" idea.  Everybody needs a "Dear Smart Dog, on the "flip side" of a Dear Abbey.  So yes I'm in and here are my questions?

Dear Smart Dog:  I came into a hefty inheritance and I don't know how I should handle all of this money. Should I put it in the bank or should I put it underneath my mattress or should I invest it all?  What do you think?

Question # 2:  What will it take to get these young boys to pull up their pants when in public? It is so embarrassing to see them walking down the street or in the grocery store holding them up with one hand and on their cell phone with the other hand. Some of them I have approached...but you must be careful in your choice...and I politely told them that it didn't look nice to see their underwear. One guy pulled his up and walked away, but later I saw him in the grocery store and they had fallen back down again. Smart Dog, what can we do?  This is a long time...way overdue...complaint..."that is not new"... that many of us have been suffering with our young youths. Some say it is a "fade" but fades only last for so long...so to me...it is no longer a fade?  What is your view?

  • Yes, yes, yes, my thoughts exactly Carolyn.  It was fun and you guys took care of business.  And no doubt, it brought you all together as a team, learning those valuable lessons you mentioned; which can be passed on to newcomers, by just reviewing it...Peace In Carolyn, tc my friend.
  • Clyde, your visit to Smartdog caused me to revisit one of the fun classrooms in the bldg.  I got so tickled reading all of the entries that I started laughing out loud once again.  These were fun times, sometimes tense..but I think it made us who interacted here closer to each other.  Its never any of our aim to hurt others' feelings or cause anyone to get angry or upset..so the lesson learned was... to REPECT,HONOR AND APPRECIATE the differences we all have and we will fight for the right for all to share their opinion  without recourse.
  • Correction: it should
  • Well, I've often wondered about the making of the "Smartdog Welcome Letter," now I know; great job guys.  Not only did I enjoy reading the entire thread, but thoughts came to mind that is should be required reading.  Please smartdogs, don't act on that, it was just a thought, okay, lol....don't need folks mad at me:-).  Seriously though, the production process of taking Fred's idea and having back and forth dialogue, until consensus based resolution was reached, is clearly, our African roots.  Here is an excerpt and link from a research source we are using:

...In contrast, most Africans prefer decisions to emerge through timeless consultation, until participants can reach consensus. To be sure, an African executive can make snap judgments as swiftly as Americans can. Nonetheless, he is likely to remain aware of obligations to his extended family or clan. By acting alone, he flaunts that clan's collective wisdom. By consulting, he honors it. Read more: African Management Methods - benefits http://www.referenceforbusiness.com/...#ixzz1995v5fxb
  • Dear Smart Dog, DID YOU KNOW THAT: Ernie Banks of Chicago Cubs Baseball Fame is the brother of Evelyn Banks and the cousin of my classmate of '57....Miss Ella Banks?
  • Dear Smart Dogs I need your participation,we are calling it, did you know. This is the way it work.
Did you know that Melvin Reed basketball team played in the NCAA Final Four against UCLA? Did you know that Jeff Fuller who played football for the San Francisco 49ER is William Fuller's son?
  • All one has to do is think how you felt when you came aboard, had a birthday or any reason, and how our campus reached out welcomed you and embraced you. Well others would love that feeling also. Let's not be selfish. We're not asking everyone.....just YOU. It means a lot to the persons on the receiving end. It doesn't take long. You don't have to know them!!
