  • So glad to see the names of my fellow band members !

  • This picture was taken before 1967, Drum Major was Tree Top and Gwen ?.  Can't remember her last name. Maybe 63 or 64.

  • I was the Drum Major in 1968 - 69 and played the Sousaphone in the Concert and Marching Bands.

    God Bless,

    Perry Baty, Band Member 1966 - 69

  • My name is Marion (Cookie) Taylor Wall. I played the clarinet and the piano in the jazz band.

  • Hello Members!  I would like to say how proud I am to be a part of this group.  Just be patient with me and slow responses.  I'm not home everyday so my response times may be slow.  God bless and Happy Friday!

Luv - Haza (Hazel Salter-King) Class of 1969, Band member from 1965-1969.

  • I don't, but my borther Stanley might. I'll check with him.

  • WOW Anne, that's remarkable BTW history!! I recall marching band photo in the '59 yearbook with my long time family friend Freddye Daniels in it - are you on that picture too, and more importantly, do you have some pictures (band or otherwise) you can bless us in sharing?

Thanks for being a trailblazer for female drummers in our band. My long time classmate Gloria Epperson (married name Miles) was the lone female drummer my years in the band. I'm not aware of any others before or after her.

  • I was the first female drummer in the marching band and played both the snare and kettle drums in the orchestra from 1956-1958.
